I keep VDC on unless intentionally trying to throw the tail out a little. I live in FL and have driven through some really intense thunderstorms and also after this year TS's and hurricanes and never had a problem. I go to school in NC and was forced to drive in snow twice, one time was last week, 2" on the ground and I did fine. I'm in a RWD 6MT. The other time I was on the rough gravel pothole filled road up to my house and there were probably 3", I spun the tires a little going up my steep driveway but other than that I did fine. Moral of the story, keep your VDC on and don't overdrive the conditions and you'll be fine. I'll definitely be getting better tires once these are dead but for now I'm pretty happy with their performance for being OEM...

Keep the traction control on. That's just as bad as saying you don't wear your seatbelt.

Glad you are OK.

Would the X (AWD) help prevent something like this?

...or driving with your eyes closed. That's almost as bad as saying you hit a tree because you were driving at night with your lights off.

vdc should always be on unless ur tracking

it's texas, the oil/grease/sludge residue left on the road just makes slippery when a little bit of rain hits it, if it rains alot then it washes away all that stuff and it's alot safer. but still slippery

greg, im sure some of us have and some havent. point being though, if you have vdc and its raining etc, you should keep it on. even if its dry why take it off? we are not trained daily for this stuff. its not like being at work and its a daily routine. if you have something that is meant for safety use it. Its like saying, ohh back in the day no one had seatbelts so why use them now???

I agree with using it in the rain/snow/cold(with summer tires). In decent 60 degrees or better weather, I drive with it off. Sometimes VDC does things I don't expect, but, meh..

Hi! My name is Kevin and I want to kick you in the face. I don't think I can explain how big of a dumb **** you are for attempting to write such a post. Do you see how I used your words and turned them around to be used against you? I used "attempting" because you failed big time.

This guy is right. If you can't drive without some sort of driver assist, that's just sad. If a car has it, then great, use it. But most of the cars on the road do not have traction control. I wish the G37 didn't.
