Alarm reset anyone?

Hey Guys! I am hoping one of you guys out there knows something about this. For the last few months my car will arm and disarm without a beeping noise. I do see lights flash when I lock my car but not unlock my car. I always thought it was because of a fuse or something so I never really checked.

Then I went to a dealer (that cerritos guy) and he told me that somehow I disarmed something by sitting on my FOB key somehow. Not sure what exactly he was saying but he told me a technician for Infiniti just has to do something with the fob key near the car and the alarm should restart and make those sounds again.

Do any you guys have any idea what he means and how to do this? Thanks

That tells you something about the dealers.

^^do only if you are programming your fob. for simply just the horn sound, do what i said. it's been the standard procedure for Infiniti/Nissans for a number of years.

You know what, sometimes I don't think these dealers know much about the cars than just what they spew out when they try to sell you something....and then there are those who don't know anything at all except the numbers it takes to own the car...but yeah, thanks and I will try this when I get to my car...I wonder how i turned it off? oh well..thanks

It's been a while and call me old but I thought it was A B then start and not B A start. I used that code so many times it's drilled in my head but maybe I got some wires mixed.

That's easy. Your left cheek must've been on the lock button while the right cheek was on unlock. (_|_)

They don't know ANYTHING... which is why, every visit to a different dealer for a problem that's solution is LESS than obviious will illicit a different response. In other words, dealer "A" = Explanation "A", dealer "B" = Explanation "B." Same problem, different explanation.. and, by explnation, I mean excuse as to why they cannot fix it.

I went to a dealer after my seat was repaired for the 5th time and the FOB link to seat memory had been cleared... as this isn't something I use every day, I asked the tech to reset the FOB to mem location 1 and he literally said, "I dont' think you can do that!"

YMMV but, it usually doesn't.... lol.
