Door open warning
Hey G37 owners!
I'm new to this forum, this is my first post...I just picked up an 08 G37S in Diamond Graphite last saturday...anyways, i absolutely love this car, and i'm a noob at Nissans (coming from a Honda/Acura family)...anyways, i have a slight problem with my door open warning indicator....whenever i'm driving over 60km/h, and i hit a slight bump in the road, my indicator will show that the driver door is open...then after a few seconds, it'll turn off...anyone else have this problem? i'm hoping it's just a loose wire somewhere...
oh, and the window will open slightly then close after a few seconds...and no, the door is not half closed...

Sounds like something is loose that triggers the open door warning.
The window rolls down slightly when you open the door, then rolls up slightly when you close the door: It is working properly, not a problem.

yea, totally sucks...cause i got it last saturday, then on monday it went back into the dealership for 3m clear bra and factory shock sensor...been parked for a few days due to ****ty weather, and now it's most likely going back tmrw or saturday again....i put more km's on this thing going to the dealership than i have actually driven on the streets...
Hey, It will all settle out. Good call on the bra.Well worth it when done right! Did Ya Hav'em do the inside of the outer door handles too. (no ring scratches) I had mine done a few days after I picked it up and got the use of a brand new sedan while it was being done.

thanks! hopefully i'm of some use to this forum...eventhough i'm a new owner of infiniti/nissan, but i've worked on cars all my life...and it's all the freakin same...but yea, i brought it to the dealer today, and couldn't replicate the same problem..which sucks and i wasted my time...but hopefully it won't happen again...
you can also get the rockers door sills and a-pillers and front roof done to i did.
if you saw the "sand" ( small rocks) they put on the roads around here in winter you would too. my 08 had rock picks all over the roof. And i did clearplex on the windshield and it saved me on the drive home huge rock would have smashed the windshield for sure.
If the dealer did some work with an alarm sensor or alarm system for the car, it's probably a wiring problem they created while doing so. There are sensors on the alarm that detect when the door is opened, and the wires have to be spliced into the wires that detect when the door is opened. A bad ground or a weak splice could cause exactly what you're talking about.
I'll bet they just need to check their splices and grounds for the alarm system.
