Never worked on cars in my life before, DIY or $ for PRO

I want to black out my grill and powder coat my rims
I've never worked on a car in my life, should i just get it professionally done?

is it a long/complicated process? like could I read up on this forum on the DIY and do it successfully without ****ing up?

does anyone have a quote of how much a decent job would cost me? and does anyone have pics of any g37s that are modded this way.. I'm sure its been done many times before

THANKS!

DIY for grill shouldn't be too hard.. but for rims, if u wanna powdercoat.. i suggest you get them professional done. you can always paint ur rims but it wont look as nice as powdercoat

How exactly did you plan on doing the powdercoating yourself?

Grill is fairly easy and there is a DIY but you can also take to just about any body shop and they should be willing to paint it for around $100 but I really would not even attempt to powdercoat the wheels. Take them to a pro, prolly cost around $400 for a set.

DIY on the grill for sure just make sure you prep it right. As far as the wheels go have it done by the pro's !!

As for the rims, get them PROFESSIONALLY done.

Grille, if you want that glossy finish get it professionally done too.

Like others said, grill you can do yourself, wheels get done by a professional. I got a quote from a powdercoat guy a couple weeks ago for around $50 a wheel. I just haven't taken them in yet because you'll have to take the wheels off of the car and take the tires off of the wheels yourself before you bring them to a powdercoater. Unless they specialize in wheels and can do that for you. I've got my car in the garage for winter and using my truck now so one of these days I'll get the wheels in and let you know how much it ends up costing and how it looks.
