So proud of my baby, so proud.

(Hopefully the break in point isnt 1,250 miles....That would be so embarrassing )

Oh yeah,

Is the break in really that big of a deal? does it make a real difference?

I've heard many different things on this. Coming from a 08 Z06, many people said it is a must to break in for the rear end/ gears to break in. I don't know if it is the same with the G37, but w/ the Z06, they already dyno test (rev the engine up to redline) so it isn't the engine so much as the gears. They also said to try not to keep it at a certain rpm to long, to shift gears etc.

It's probably different on the G37 a little, I don't know, maybe a service tech at Infiniti could go into detail.

You guys really think the Goofys at the dealer drive your brand new car at the Infiniti dealer slowly? They beat the shieeet out of your car running it to detail, even if its only half a block away. When I first picked up my car it said average mpg 4.2 What do you guys think?

nah, even if they beat it they'll get like 8-10, maybe they just left the car in idle for a while, that's why the reading sucked

hope infiniti reps are not readin this crap, but I bought an 08 and just drove it the way I wanted eventhough the car only had 12miles on it. After about 1k miles I had nothing but problems with the tranny, and weird engine noises. After three trips to the dealership I fought and fought and finally convinced them it was a lemon and under the lemon law they had to give me a new one, which they did. I broke that one in, no shifting above 3k rpm and easy on it up to 1,200 and I could not be happier.

I think I got lucky, imo you should break in your cars. Dont know if that is why my first one f***ed up but knock on wood, no issues with the new one.
