G37 price range:

IS350

A5

All different cars with different strengths....the G35 back in 02 never had this kind of competition.

IS350 = Sedan... as yet I'm unaware of the coupe to make a comparison.
335i = Always felt the most obvious (for obvious reasons) and reasonable to compare. But for comprably equipped at + $8,000 (maybe more)? It is too common with reliability (if only my perception) issues... just wasn't feeling it.
135i= (correct re price point...but didn't compete IMO as far as overall appearance, ex/interior etc.,butt ugly actually). And if by class we are talking entry level lux/sport, seeing the sport but not the lux)...for the price? it felt $10,000 overpriced
A5 = similarly equipped + $12,000 - must say do like the interior and overall look and feel of the car (a lot). But for the extra money, feels more like the entry to the next price range.

So OK, I hear you...there are more choices to consider then when the '03 G35 landed. My only thought in posting was in response to #12, the comment that: "Infiniti should have stuck with what works best. A car should be designed to be the best at its price point."

/I am saying, all in all, Infiniti clearly continues to do a pretty damn good job of doing just that. ^^
//Despite (or because of) having more competition. Competition is a good thing.
///And props to the 35 for getting it going.
////As always- it will be interesting to see what's around the next corner.

Back to OP, it will be interesting to look at final numbers -across brands- in terms of market share vs an overall reflection of a down economy.
