You likely missed the impact points since the car went under the SUV. It probably would have caused more harm to you than good. Remember the two second rule.. there is no SUV that can stop as quickly as a G

^nothing you said, with the exception of the 2 second rule makes any sense. yeah, an suv takes longer to stop, so he shouldn't have run into the back of it. what does an suv taking longer to stop have anything to do with the o.p.'s story. anyway, i agree that you shouldn't tailgate.

It makes sense, just not to you. The OP said the SUV slammed on breaks well if he was not on his *** he would have had ample time to break as the G stops much quicker than an SUV.

Well I hit a tree at about 40-45 in my G35 in the front passenger side corner and the front passenger airbag and the passenger side curtain both popped. Scared the shizzit out of my girl and hit her in the face. No injuries though. Car was totalled and now I have a G37S

Autobody called early this morning and said that it is fixable and will be about 10-15K and probably wont be totaled because it is so new.

that doesnt look like a 10-15k job. the front bumper, left headlight housing, grill, hood, only looks to be the one that are damaged, thats probably like a 2-3k exterior damaged. i dont know about the frame of the car, but 10-15k is too much. imo.

That's why you're not an adjuster

You are way off. I had much less damage to my car (front bumper cover and 1 fender) and the Infiniti body shop repairs totalled $3300. The full headlight assembly is like $800-$900 dollars, with all the brackets. I think 10-15K is about right.

Too bad he rear-ended the car in front of him, now his rates will probably jump as well since insurance will deem him at fault.

If you had hit something that was more lower, or something hit the cars Front Frame Rails...then your Air Bags would have come out! Since most newer cars Air Bag Sensors are mounted low on the Front Frame rails! So that the reason why your Air Bags did not come out. Also I think they changed where they mount the Air Bag Sensors, because too many cars were being totalled from a Minor Hit. or a High Hit Like yours. Since Todays Air Bags are really Big $$$$! and todays Air Bags are smarter. Like if no one is in the Passenger Seat and you have a hard enougf hit, only yours would Deploy. not all, or not the passenger side. made to save Money on repairs, since Like I said Air Bags today are really Expensive! Hope this Helps you understand a little better why they did not Deploy!
Oh my God! Wow wow wow!!!
