Hot air rises. You must be driving upside down.

Or we're all already upside down and just don't know it because everything is relative.

Hahah, yeah... but I kinda agree with those that said its probably from the tranny. When my A/C is on, there is no heat at all that bothers me. If the A/C is off, the windows down and its cool outside... u can feel the heat there.

Ehhh, i'll check it out again tonight when I drive down from Woodbridge to Jackson.

What do u all think? Should I have the dealer take a look at the car or is it just a normal thing. The car I had before was a Lancer and when I drove that, there wasn't much heat there. Maybe its b/c of this car's engine heating up quickly? I guess that's what it is..bigger engine more heat.

I never had this problem. Mine is an AT. Also AC works extremely efficiently.

Let me get this straight. You're concerned that your legs get hot when you aren't running the A/C and it's close to 80 outside? Clearly you have a lemon. Take it back.

You know what sucks? You can't recirculate the air w/o having the AC turned on...

Are you talking about me? Sooo... this is NOT normal for this car? Cuz i know I have up to 700 miles to try out the car to see if its a lemon or not. Well, going to take a drive down to Jackson Township now (~ 30 mile drive from Woodbridge.)... and i'm going to drive it with the windows up and the A/C on with 3 bars. I'm going to see if there is any kind of extreme heat coming out from the transmission console.

On my way back tonight on Route 9, it should be near 75 degrees... I'll keep my windows down and see if there is any "stuck" heat in the leg area.

Boy, I wish all the G37 owners here said... "Yeah! I gets hot under the steering column. That's a normal thing for this car!" LoL, that would have made me worry-free.

I dont think its "stuck" heat. It feels like its coming from somewhere and its not normal outside hot air... it's noticeably hotter, like coming from the engine or something.

What mode are you in for the circulation?

I have this problem as well only when driving with the windows down/AC off and stopped at a light. The heat is coming from the exhaust.

Make sure you turn on the recirculate button so it does not let any of the heat in. If that does not help turn on the AC on just your feet for a minute, that usually helps.

manual mode, ac off, every time i hit recirculate, the ac turns on automatically. i just want to recirculate the air w/o having the ac on when driving in stanky areas.

What I'm saying is this is normal for many, many coupes, from every marque. Why would there be a lot of circulation in the footwells with the climate control off? Put a receipt or something of the like down there and see if it blows out the window. It won't. Little circulation. Not to mention the exhaust is very close.

I'm pretty sure he means he feels a "HEAT WAVE" coming through from somewhere near waist and below....
