Got Keyed
Got Keyed
I've only had my G for 4 weeks now and already got keyed last night. I live in The Fan in Richmond. I park my car in a private lot right next to my condo and some P.O.S. keyed me. I'll will definitely be getting 2 security cameras now. 1 pointed at my parking spot, the other at the entrance to the lot so I can capture license plates when people enter and exit the lot.
Oh, and to top it off, a rock it my windshield two days ago, and I have to replace it. $50 deductible for the new windshield, $200 for the keying.
I hate idiots that are jealous of nice cars.
The first pic is of the keying, the second and third show my personal spot in the private lot. There are 7 townhouses (mine is the one you see on the end), and a sports bar that use the lot. I have a good feeling it was a patron of the sports bar.

For a second i thought "WTF it's a private parking lot". Then i read that it was near a sports bar. THen i was like "no wonder.......". Be very careful where you park next time. I always park near cars that are more expensive then mine or very far away. Doesn't hurt to walk..
looks more like a drunk rubbed it on accident. if it was keyed im sure they would of done a lot more. Sucks though man!!! Someone stole my center cap of my rim the other day or something happened to it. SUCKS when others mess with your hardwork.
that sucks dude at least you have comprehensive if you diddnt that really would suck be more than $500 for just fixing the paint and like 700 for the windsheild
i wish i had comprehensive some hater kicked my car and now theres a dent

It really does not look like it was keyed. Have you tried buffing it out? It looks more like a surface scratch than a key line. I'm sure if it was intentional it would have been a lot deaper and longer.
Sorry to see that, it really irritates me when people are either careless and damage your property or are just jealous and deliberately damage your property.
Its not consolation, but atleast it can be repaired and you'll never have known it was there. Whats irritating is we have to deal with this nonsense. Good idea with the cameras; if its a repeat offender you'll catch them next time.
We've all been there though. My wife had her new 2005 civic in 2006 damaged when someone pushed a shopping cart into the hood, which is low. This put a dent in the crease on the hood. Her next car, a 2005 S40 T5 got keyed very deep on the trunk the day after she got it at work. Back in England my dad had his Jag XJ6 keyed, which really showed on his black paint.
If I ever caught someone doing this, even if it was not my car, I would key them!

my cousin owns the local mercedes dealership (with their own body shop). i'm taking it up there monday to see if they can buff it out. crossing my fingers. i'll update you guys on the outcome.
If it's that deep, buffing won't do very much. It sucks bro and I feel for you, but if the damage is that bad, only repainting that entire panel is your only way to repair it. Best of luck to you either way.
