Infiniti ranking in initial quality

Hi fellow members,
Take a look at this link, down at the bottom is the ranking chart and Porshce takes the top ranking this year and Infiniti second for luxery brands.

http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com...alityCars.aspx

A little misleading by the title but I thought great news. As a BMW owner as well, rock solid reliability means something

Cheers!

It seems Infiniti is always #2.

Infiniti was behind Lexus for a while. Hey at least they are consistent

This is interesting:
Entry premium car:

Winner: Infiniti EX-Series

Runners-up: Infiniti G-Series

Midsize premium car:

Winners: Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Infiniti M-Series (tie)

Runners-up: Lexus ES 350, Audi A6

Large premium activity vehicle:

Winner: Lincoln Navigator

Runners-up: Infiniti QX56, Cadillac Escalade

Nice to know that Infiniti spreads the wealth with regard to reliability

Woo-hoo for gret resale value!

I'm sure the Beeemer Boys are throwing a fit right now. Coming in at #21 behind even the likes of Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan, Kia, Hyundai, Honda, Porsche, Volvo, and MB. They only beat out VW, Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Mazda, Subaru, and Saab! Either BMW's are great performing pieces of junk when it comes to reliability, or their owners are really complaining a lot. These rankings are based on problems that owners report; as much as the BMW owners I know prattle on and on about how great their cars are; it seems a bit contradictory, doesn't it?

And to think I almost bought one instead of the G. I'll wait until "German Engineering" means something besides high performance that requires a visit to the shop every month to keep it that way. It'll be fantastic when they get that part of it right, I'd be in line at the dealership. "One M5 to go please!"

No one is ' dissing' Porsche but practically everyone knows they're not known for their reliability, just like every other German car. They're ranked by problems per every 100 cars, they must have only sold a few hundred cars last year lol!

^Yeah, low sales and the fact that they average about 1,500 miles per year. Kind of hard to have trouble with a vehicle that doesn't get much use...

Way to go Infiniti!

I take these stats with a grain. It's Initial Quality which is only 90 days. Pretty narrow window. Most people report problems at their first oil change which can easily be outside the 90 days. They mention the 1 year report coming out. That has more value to me.
