Question I want paddle shifters, but do not want 19" wheels - what are my options?

I want paddle shifters, but do not want 19" wheels - what are my options? I would prefer the 18" wheels with the smaller brakes, as I could likely slap on 17" wheels in the winter, and in the summer the thicker 18" tires would be better on the poorly paved roads here. I also like the wood trim more than the metallic interior trim. Problem is, I really like the paddle shifters, as my current car has button shifters on the steering wheel, and I find myself frequently using them.

What are my options? I plan on leasing, but do you think any dealerships out there would install them on a non-sport model? From what I read, every G37 is prewired from the factory for them.

I am getting the paddle shifters from an aftermarket company,

I am not very technical when it comes to working on cars. I could build you one hell of a computer, but as far as fixing cars - I'm the guy who fetches the tools.

A dealer MAY do it for you... but I'm sure would charge you big time.

Looks like you got some decisions to make. I say... Go SPORT!

I like the 18's, and wood trim. Sport - I love the paddle shifters.

Choices, choices. Luckily, I am under no pressure to make a decision until August/September when my car's smart-lease is up.

I want Athens Blue, Premium Package, Navigation, and Automatic. Too bad the AWD model won't be out by then.

There is no reason not to warranty the tranny for adding paddle shifters. It doesn't make the tranny do anything different than it already does or was designed to do from the factory... it simply gives you access to the cars's optional access point for controling the gears.

you could take the sport 19's with staggered tires and sell em for top dollars and revert to 18 inch non staggered wheels of your choice! you could probably break even on it too - pretty dumb plan if u ask me since you're downgrading but if you're that intent on gettin a Sport Model with paddle shifters and no 19s you could do it..

of course u will still have the better bigger brakes and the tighter suspension if that's ok with u lol....on 18s and sport suspension ur car may even get a slightly lowered look...
