Have you priced your own insurance vs what you would be paying with them. You might just have to save some money for enough of a downpayment to offset the costs. You might even be able to find someone to finance you if you check around and demonstrate a soid work history.

 

ey patel if u can drive stick tell your parents that they are beign narrow minded in not letting you get it. its simply a choice of transmission. standard vs. auto. thats all it is...its not life or death - tell them its just our choice how you want to control your vehicles transmission. besides as long as you have the premium package which almost all 6mt sports do, you can connect your cellphone to the bluetooth so shifting and talking do not conflict.

Well, when my parents bought me my car in high school, I had to get an automatic because my dad needed to use the car at times and he can't drive stick. Plus it was fair since they were buying it. They were still against me getting a manual when I got the G, but in this case, they had no say since I was paying for it. The same rules should apply to you as well...they may be putting you on their insurance policy, but YOU'RE the one paying for the car...YOU should have the final say IMO.

I know desi parents my friend, they are stubborn, my mom wanted me to get a slow car, thank god she just liked the G a lot. Just tell them that the 5AT is faster than the manual, but to tell you the truth I have a 5AT and I like it just fine. I still kinda wish I got the Manual though but its all good.

 

I personally wished that I had gotten the 6MT. The 5AT is not as responsive. I hate the shift delay. Drives me nuts. The only upside to having an automatic is that I love it when I get stuck in traffic
