So in this case, is it better to always go forward in than to back into the spot?

normally if i REALLY need to see the bottom, I just tilt the right side mirror myself, but i've only had to do this once.

Vinny:

If it makes you feel any better I just curbed the SH#T out of my right front rim at lunch time - spokes and all!

I've got a call into a rim shop now, but being here in Louisiana, the options are slim.

Really its not too much damage at all from what i see...but i would probably feel tha same way if it happened to me though...make yourself feel better and go out and buy a new set of 20" rims!!!! That should fix the problem lol

Don't sweat it, it can be fixed. It happens to rookie drivers.

There are some VERY nice wheel + tire packages out there that dont even cost near that much that you can slap on your G, but if you want to get it fixed....w/ the damage you have i personally think that you shouldnt pay more than $50-60 Or you can leave it as is and have her riding round town lookin like this---->

Happen to me on my IS350....but not on reverse...cuz that car had mirrors that tilt down. Anyways...i just set my mirror to the passenger side and everytime i parallel (not often), I would just tilt it down...don't have to worry about it later when i get out as it re-adjusts the next time i open the door.
