New respect for Tech Package...

I gained an all new respect for what Infiniti has done with with the technology package last night. So here's the story... Last night I was going down the road just headed to visit my family. Minding my own business, driving perfectly normal, I basically had to nearly slam on the brakes due to a car in front of me with multiple problems... it slammed on it's brakes as well, but didn't have freaking brake lights. Parking lights worked but nothing happened when he braked. As I quicky got on it, I immediately saw the effects of the Technology Package. The brakes pressurized giving me quite the braking power, but most interesting, the pre-crash seat belts engaged as well. It was weird because they pulled close to me very snuggly to the point where I could feel it. I was very impressed and can definitely see how this is a bit more protection in event of a crash.

For those of you that aren't familiar with it, this is what it includes:

Technology Package
- Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC)[5] with Preview Braking[6]
- Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS)
- Pre-Crash Seat Belts

Anyone else got to experience all that the Tech package offers?

Yeah but it also has its disadvantages too...especially when the freeway curves...i've had cars in other lanes and dividers slow me down before when i didn't want it to...

Yeah, I noticed that too. If I just slam the brakes during normal driving, I noticed that it takes more effort to stop as oppose to a "panic" stop where there is a car in front of me. The turning headlights are nice, but I really like the brake assist.

I was mostly interested in the AFS but none of the cars on the lot had the tech package with the other options I wanted (6MT sport, nav, premium) so I settled for not having it. Kinda wish I had held out though....

I didnt want it for two reasons. One the cruise control system ****s with my built in laser/radar system. 2 the ducting for the cruise control will limit after market mods including bumpers and intercoolers...

hehehe... that's why I didn't want it. Valentine 1 doesn't like intelligent cruise control systems.
