What do you mean? You can cancel the warranty at any time? Transfer to what?
Let’s say the warrantee costs $2,500 and you decide to sell the car half way between the start and end of the extended warrantee, in theory you could pay Infinity $25. to get back half the amount paid ($1,250) or transfer it to the new buyer. Hope that helps

something can go wrong when you are modding your car. infiniti will know that and void the warranty...i think its a waste of money, i am planning not to keep the car more than 4 years...
A dealer can only void the portion of warrantee that they can prove was directly related to the mod. They would have to prove that a cat back exhaust system was the reason the Navigation went out. As stated prior, a turbo would void any drive train items. Bottom line is we all pay for insurance at many levels, this is just another. If you are not keeping it more than 4 years, it's not needed

That may not be true depending on how many miles you drive per year. SOme people (like me) will be well over 60k miles in less than 4 years in which case 100k miles of protection will come in handy.....

it looks like a lot of guys on this board wants to go fi. so if their engine blew because of the turbo then their screwed.

They're only screwed if something goes wrong with the drivetrain or other components directly related to or affected by the turbo. The navigation won't go out because of turbos, but if it does go out, the warranty will cover it. Same goes for all of the other technology that is new to our '08s ($$$$).
You make a great case; I just got off the phone with the Infinity dealer and now have the extended warrantee. It’s nice to know, for $25.00 you can get back or transfer the pro rated amount if you sell before it’s up.
I don't think you'll regret it. Even if nothing goes wrong, it's a relatively inexpensive peace of mind. Adds to the resale value of your car, too.
I got it too. Didn't hesitate but I did negotiate down to $1500 ( they were asking $2600) and also got my 15k and 30k maintenance thrown in for free along with free oil changes for the life of the car. Had the car 3 weeks and am at 1350 miles already. Loving every minute too!!
Depending on your situation, it might not be a bad idea to buy and extended warranty just before the basic 4 yr. /60K mi. expires. Yes, many dealers will do this and at a much reduced cost from buying it when the car is new.

Really? The dealer told me that they'd offer me the warranty at cost, but only if I did it right then. They said they'd have to charge me retail if I decided to get it later. I bought it at first, but then changed my mind and got the money refunded.
