No actually the name really doesn't fit, well maybe. Ha Ha. I am reading all your feedback and I will keep the old rim and get it fixed. But just couldn't believe that I did it in the first place. I have never did this before on my other cars so I couldn't believe I did it on my G of all cars.

The wheels are absolutely repairable. I had two of them fixed already and they came out perfect. I wish Infiniti could have designed them a little better to avoid this problem.

Someone who's had their wheel repaired by INFINITI post up with what it costs and about how long it took.. Need some deffinate answers, maybe some pics too, hopefully no one else will buy a new rim for minor damage that can be repaired.

I'm pretty positive there is even a DIY posted around here to fix the rim..

Don't waste your money on heavy OEM wheels.

Well, personally I think the stock 19" wheels are much better looking than most of the ridiculous looking aftermarket wheels out there, but it's a matter of personal preference I guess.

^^Yeah, I think the stock wheels are nice as well. So we are on 3 pages now for a curbed wheel? We need some new material, bad.

I initially had nightmare stories of folks trying to repair the spokes my rims on my G35 coupe. The color was off, the texture was badly done and later on it began to spot up. I would almost rather replace it as well having the money to do so.
The color and texture on these rims are extremely difficult to match sometimes. The lip of the rim is much easier to repair because it reflects light slightly differently than the spokes. I would defeinitely recommend rim repair for the rash above. But if you have a large area on your spokes that are scratched- it is 50/50 IMO.

I can say however that they went through a few contractors at my deaelrship. I had to get a rim fixed about a year ago and they did a good job. I could still tell it was repaired but primarily because I knew the scratch was there to begin with.

Anyone know of a GOOD repair shop in Northern/Central Cali?
I also have a slight nick on the lip of my BLACK rims. Barely noticeable, except to me. I had no idea they can fix that.

My sport package rims on my G37 were in much worse condition; a much deeper scratch and a good quarter-inch deep chunk was gone.

Took it to Velvet Touch rim repair in Anaheim (operates out of Mercedes Benz of Anaheim Hills) and after $150 cannot tell the difference. Ran the edge of the rim with my finger and cannot tell where the scratches originally were.

There was a guy there with an SL55 AMG and his AMG rims were severely scratched on the passenger side front and rear. We both waited and his car came out first, again, rims looked brand new, could not tell the difference.

Of the many BS fixit jobs in collision and auto repair a good quality rim repair shop can do wonders.
