Businessweek Review of the G Coupe
haha i love this forum.
"Well, #1 is not an error. The poster made an error."
Ask people what the starting price is for a G and i'm sure the vast majority would say what's posted on infiniti's website and various reviews. I thought most people interpret "starting price" as sans delivery fee. Why would a car company want to advertise a starting price including delivery fee?
go google the G37 starting price and i bet you'll find either my numbers, or yours but it will state that it includes delivery fee, which this article did not. anyway, i think we're both correct on this one (i could say we're both wrong, but i think you and i both hate being wrong haha).
i guess when i said the article sucked, it could be interpreted in several ways. to be more specific, i meant that the article sucked because it delivered a couple false pieces of information. i didn't see any of these errors in car & driver, winding road, consumers digest, etc., which is why i said the article "sucks" in comparison. now i do understand that writers or editors can make mistakes, but it doesn't change the fact that it's delivering some erroneous information to the public. i remember writing papers in english classes where i made an incorrect assumption here and there...i didn't get any leniency then...and i wouldn't expect anything less from the staff of a professional magazine institution. i never insinuated they should "chuck the whole article," i just think they should be more thorough in their fact gathering and proof reading process. if anything, it takes away from their reputation as a valid information source if they continue to write articles like this.
anyway, i don't want to get carried away. you have your opinion, i have mine, and we're each entitled to them the last time i checked. i think you just interpreted what i said more literally than i intended. just arguing for the sake of arguing. no hard feelings.

I don't think that the delviery cost/dealer fees should be factored into the base price of the car. This fee comes at the end, and most of the time hardly anyone actually pays it (at least I never have). And any good marketer will tell you, all they really want to do is keep the price of the car looking as low as possible. Thats one reason why I didn't get a BMW, EVERYTHING is in addition too msrp.
I thought the article was a decent read except for the obvious errors.
