came back from the dealer to pick up my plates and there was one salesman who said i was lucky, b/c the ip/g was rare, but the coupes with spoilers made were about at 3% of production run...does that sound right???

 

I heard the same info from the dealership where I bought mine. It doesn't seem right to me, more than 3% of the owners on here have factory spoilers IMO.
I'd say at least 10%?

 

When I bought my IP/Graphite 6MT/Prem/Nav, I wanted it w/o the spoiler...Dealer said my combo was rare too? They told me there were only 2 in the whole east coast that were available.

As "rare" as they say these are, it seems like most new owners go for IP. But who could blame them...after all, it is the best color. :P

Any combo you get from the dealer is going to be "rare." Do you really think they want to sell you a car and tell you that everyone who orders it gets it the same way? Come on, the sales people are there (normally) to make you feel better about your purchase and we all know that if your car is unique it tends to make you feel better about it. We like to have things that other people don't have!

 

I don't think they put a huge emphasis into the spoilers on the G37 since the new back looks good without a spoiler unlike the G35 which looks horrible without a spoiler.

 

10% sounds about right, 3 is low....ur right about the old one needin the spolier but i like it on the 37 too because something about the lil chrome lip looks cheesy like a lil charlie chaplin stasche or sumpn...iono...i dont like too much chrome accenting on cars - looks too chrysler...Naw Means?

 

Uh I don't think they chrome's there for the "bling blingness" like the Chrysler, we know the G isn't a Bentley and were not trying to act like it is!

 

At first I didn't care for the chrome lip, but it has really grown on me since I got my car. Now, I'm debating on whether or not to actually have the spoiler installed when my dealership finally gets them in.

 

i wish mine had the wing but i would have waited longer....i hope there will be some aftermarket spoilers along the road.

 

my friend that works at the dealer ship told me this...whom i didnt buy the car from....i dont c many with spoilers at all...

 

Been looking for this answer, but not trying to hijack the thread. I'm getting the backup camera with my G37S, but the body colored spoiler is "owed" to me, so does that mean it will have the "chrome lip" and when the spoiler comes in they take off the chrome lip comes off and the body colored spoiler goes on?

Sorry if it's been asked before, couldn't find it after some searching.

 

Yes, no spoiler option = chrome lip.

 

Most of the cars on the lot I saw didn't have a spoiler. 10% sounds right. The AG I initially wanted was impossible to find w/ a spoiler and the options I wanted.
