Refund Possibility???

I have a question.

First off, no I am not returning my G haha. However, I did add a few dealer options that I'm now kinda regretting. The main one is the extended warranty I got. The great thing is, I got it at cost, which was certainly nice. However, now that I think about it, I really have no idea how long I'm going to have this car for, so I can't justify the extra money I spent on it. 4 year/60000 mi sounds like enough to me, so I was hoping I could contact them tomorrow and see if I could get the extended warranty refunded. This would lower my monthly payment by around 50 bucks or so.

Do you think this is possible??? Any input appreciated. Thanks.

If you bought it less than 30 or 60 days ago, I think you can get a refund.
I forget the exact time.
Also, most warranties are pro-rated, so even if you had it for say 6 months, you can get a refund on the difference.

I'm curious as to hoe much you paid for it. I was offered the Premium extended coverage by the finance manager for 84/100K for $2450. I told him that was too much told him I'd buy it for $1500. He offered it to me for $1850 which he said was his cost. I declined. I think that I'd keep it if you got a good price on it.

I also have the extended warranty....I'm not sure how long I'll keep the car, but if nothing else it should make selling it easier and at a premium..........at least from my perspective. What was the cost to you??

I think 1850, just as Black Betty mentioned. I do know that it's transferable and you can get it refunded if you never end up using the warranty (something like that, I have to look at the brochure again). The payments would be a bit easier on me, that's all. The reason why I say this is because on my Accord, I didn't have any problems whatsoever until I JUST passed the 100k mark.

The main point is, it'd bring my payments down by ~50 a month, which would be nice. But part of me still thinks it's worth the peace of mind. I dunno...

I appreciate all the suggestions. Keep em comin!!!

you can get a refund on the warranty at any time. I know because I did the same thing on my Z. Extended warranties are a rip off

Hmm...my friend told me that I should be able to get a refund as long as it's before the regular warranty period is up. I'm going to the dealership to try now. Wish me luck.

I'm still going to keep the security upgrade though, since I think the ignition kill is a good investment. But other than that, the finishing touch and warranty is going bye bye.

The extended warranty is probably through a 3rd party anyway. Not through your dealer. Unless things have changed, I don't see why you can't cancel it. I just cancelled mine on my Z in april and got a check back for the unused years

you can cancel it, but if it was after a certain amount of time it will be pro-rated...

your payment will still be the same, you will just get a check for the amount of the warranty...

when you buy a NEW car the warranty that is usually sold is an INFINITI warranty... When used, they usually push 3rd party warranty's which are crap, stay away from those...
