Dang it...I curbed it

Can't believe it. I curbed my rear passenger side wheel pulling too sharp a right out of the ATM. So, what do you think? I was thinking maybe take a dremmel with a gentle grind stone to take off the rough edges and a small buff wheel to do the best I can on the "face" of the edge. Other thoughts or experience???

you might be able to get it repaired by a reputable shop. could cost upwards of 2 to 300 dollars. a new rim from the dealer is likely to be 1K.

you should be able to get it fixed for $100 at the dealer.... but the only thing is sometimes the finish is "off"

^^ I would also start with the dealer. They always have good sources for repair work and will want you to be a happy guy regardless of your causing the boo boo. Sorry about that, but I have done it myself more than once.

It's a painted wheel and they can fix it to look like new.

Man I feel you on that brother. My wife curbed the same rim as yours. The back passenger side. She didn't tell me at all. I saw it when I was cleaning the car. She said she thought I would kill her for that so she thought I wouldn't notice it. WRONG! The dealer is going to fix it for me for $95 bucks, gotta bring it in next week.

I saw a set of 4 G37 19" rims on ebay for 1500, and then they did not sell and he reduced the price to 1200, and they were sold offline.

I have a minor small 1" curb mark that is barely visible, but it still sucks.

If you're around So Cal, try Velvet Touch rim repair. They are co-located with Mercedes Benz of Anaheim.

My front left rim on my G had a pretty deep scratch on the lip, i'd say about a quarter inch deep and wide. A lot deeper than your average curb rash; the edge of a steel construction plate on the damn road took a good chunk out. They charged me $125 and the wheel looks perfect. Could not tell where the scratch was in the first place.

damn, my GF just curbed my rear passenger side. The only damage is on the lip of the rim, no damage on the actual face, but pretty lengthy scracthes in 2 areas, one about 6 inches, the other 8.....anyone have any estimates?

You have got to weigh the cost of replacing the G/F vs. the rim....lol.
