wood vs. washi

Okay, I know it's been debated, discussed, and dissed, but I really like the rosewood over the washi aluminum. Unfortunately, the Sport isn't available with wood.

Now that I have stated that bit of heresy, I've decided to put my money where my mouth (typing fingers?) is. I found a website - wooddash.com - that just introduced a supposed match for the factory wood in an overlay kit - http://www.wooddash.com/item/INFINIT...its_G37_2008_2

For less than $200, I figured I would take one for the team and see what it looks like. If it's not what's been advertised, I'll send it back.

I realize it's an overlay, and will not be a perfect match for the factory install, but I'm curious to see what it will look like.

I've had overlay kits before, and thought they looked pretty good.

Once it comes in, I'll post some pics if anyone is interested.

I would love to be able to get the factory wood with the sport package.
I wonder why they limited it to non sport???

I thought the same thing ... wanted the rosewood. Now that I've had the washi aluminum, I think it gives the car a more "sporty" feel instead of the "luxury" feel. But to each his own.

I completely agree that washi is more sporty and the rosewood is more luxury. I saw the rosewood on a Sedan and I really liked it! Both look great IMO.

I agree with the comments made by both sides. I guess my problem with the washi is that almost every "sporty" car, or wannabe, has some type of aluminum trim. If given the option, I would have ordered the rosewood.

This one is probably going to split on age again. No problem, it's your money, your taste, your decision. I'm certainly not offended by either.

I'm really just curious to see what these overlays look like. If they truly do resemble the rosewood AND fit properly, I may install them. I think it's worth the possible inconvenience of having to return a package for credit.

I hope they change it so the Rosewood comes in every trim. Especially on the 6MT.

Do this by the start of next year please!!

I really like...the black lacquer finish that will come on the EX.

I don't know if they'd ever offer it in either the sedan or coupe, but I think this finish is sporty and luxurious at the same time.

Otherwise, I like the aluminum trim.

It would be cool to be able to change them according to mood. Like putting on a suit for a dinner party, or shorts for golf.

I agree, that looks great!

I wish there was an option for carbon fiber too.

My wife commented on the washi trim as really being unique and nice and she rarely says anything about my cars. She's an artist/graphic designer so I'm sticking with her opinion and not gonna touch it.
