not a nice thing to say to about g37 = Edmunds
What Needs Work:
Steering lacks positive, direct feel; new styling may put off fans of the more muscular G35; sport seat lower cushion is a bit tight.
I like it when it says the muscular g35

OMG...yes there's no question the G37 is better...appearance, performance, interior refinement. Besides, side by side, IMO, no question the G37 looks more aggressive and at the same time, promotes a higher sense of class and sophistication that the G35 coupe lacks.
Edmunds always trying to find something wrong with a car. The Bmw 335i they had to complain about the seat belt position. But they found less fault about the G37 than they did the G35. So its still a step up.

i honestly thought the steering was spot on. i liked it better than the G35c... go figure.
the sport seats are tight, but a good tight. they really secure you in place.
on another note. i actually felt like i had to raise the seat up a bit from lowest travel... and i'm 6'2". plenty of headroom for me.

Here are some nice things...
I guess you skipped this part:
Excellent turn-in response, steering accuracy and grip; strong acceleration; quiet and stable at speed; comfortable and functional interior.
And this part:
Combining speed, handling prowess and a well-appointed luxury interior, the 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe is likely to win even more fans than it already has.
oh, and the fact that this article is 2 months old.

Actually, I appreciated the comments made by Edmunds. I am quite particular about my driver's seat being that I don't want to sit rigidly upright with both hands on the wheel sitting squarely ahead. Also, my fortysomething posterier together with my fat wallet in back pocket made for a tight squeeze in the sport seat! Not to mention that the left side bolster kept hitting me in the back as I tried to drive one handed, as I prefer, in more of a slouched position.
I tested out both the sport and the standard journey model and the seat in the journey (no sport) works great for me. Also, I am one of the few (evidently) that actually wants no sport, no nav, no tech, etc.--only ones I want are the premium and tire & wheel packages (I would also want wood dash, if the dealer had ordered it before I placed the deposit)

Saw this on the Acura forum when the '04 TL came out, and I'm sure it will happen again when the '09 SH-AWD version comes out.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. As someone who was on the "sidelines" having never owned a G35 Coupe (although I've wanted one from the first time I saw it), I think the G37 is more aggressive looking and far more luxurious. That's what I'm looking for in a car. The G35 interior was, frankly, cheap looking.
If I were looking for more of a sports car, I'd probably wait for the BMW 135i or get a Lexus IS350. The G37 is too heavy to be tossible, but I commute 85 miles a day round trip and don't get much of a chance to toss.
I have always considered the G Coupe as agrand tourer. It's the successor to the Z 2+2.
If I really wanted a sports car, I would have bought a Z or S2000.

Sadly, we are going to be bombarded with these types of posts. It's normal when a new edition of a car comes out. The some owners of the superceded edition raise there back hair and go on the defensive.

Well, I totally agree with you. I just think its funny that someone goes and copies 3 negative sentence fragments from a 2 month old article and pastes it into a forum. Regardless of anything else relative to the car, what's the point??
Guess I've just been reading too many posts in general.

Anyway, I do agree with you about the G37 not being a sports car and actually neither is the G35. The Z is the true sports car.
I own a Z and I just started doing a long commute and it's just time for something smoother and a nicer interior. The road noise and rough ride are just starting to get irritating now. The only two cars I am really considering are the G37 and the IS350. I think I am going to go with the G though because the IS350 doesn't come with a 6 sp.
I wasn't trying to offend anyone with my post, so apologies to anyone I may have upset.
I took a serious look at the IS350. Great car, but after I factored in my trade, an '07 IS 350 was only $2K less than an '08 G37. No contest for me there.
