Spoke to a Dealer today about ... what else.......

I am visiting some customers in Chicago this week, called a local area dealer, and got this info:

Demo Coupe to arrive Aug 6, They are expecting their first shipment to hit the lot on Aug 16. I asked about commited, pricing, This was the reply:

They are getting 2 per month, none are on pre-order as yet, the first 2 are Black on Black, said they will sell these @ MSRP- nothing under. No Dealing at all on these right now, no idea on pricing yet, and he was not even sure when they would get pricing info. He said he wished he knew...

(If anyone is interested nearby, this is Hoffman Estates Inf. on Golf Rd.)

2 per month?. These are going to be about as rare to see on the street once they get here as they are now. I like that....

Black on black, huh...... who would order that?

I spoke to my dealer in Toronto (Agincourt Infiniti), same guy who sold me my 04 G35 -- he told me the car will sell for CDN $53,850 (fully loaded sport pack) and will be in the showroom between the last week in August and first week in September. He said they've already sold some on pre-order and suggested I do the same, otherwise I would be waiting at least a month longer. Any Canadians getting other numbers re: pricing?

2 per month? Seriously? I hope this is not the trend for all dealerships.

Man sounds like the new iPhone craze from Apple, any G37 future owners camping outside the stealership?
2 per month?
Even Bentley produces more cars!

He said that would be their allotment for now, so I can only think it will be during the first few months until whenever, but he did not indicate how long that would be the case.

He said they may not know MSRP until the day they roll off the truck, so it could be a long wait for pricing....

Oh man guys, it's pretty much been acknowledged for a week or so now that Canadian Pricing has been released. There's a thread on the next page all about it:

http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166668

Not sure what's going on with the US, but pricing in Canada was definitely a pleasant surprise. My MSRP was bang on in Western Canada, although my freight and pdi was about 30 dollars more then quoted from the guys in Ontario and BC. The $53,850 is Sport with NAV & Tech, the only thing missing is 4WAS ($1,500).

^ It was like that for the 07 Sedan also. For some reason we had pricing quite a bit before the US did......I have no idea why though.

$53,850 + tax = something around 63k? The tax is rediculous man!

^ Yeah, tax sure is a pain.
But -- if you trade in your current wheels you only pay tax on the difference!

From my past experiences with dealerships, they always seem to have little inventory coming in all the time.
It's always like this :
"We only have 2 units coming in per month" (see above)
"I'll be getting 3 black units, but the 2 are already pre-sold" (Toyota dealer where I bought my FJ cruiser)
"These are selling like hotcakes and we're only getting 6 coupes in May, only 1 with the color and the interior you want. If you place your downpayment today, I can mark this a pre-sold" (from a BMW salesman when I was looking at the 328i coupe)

The Reason?, supply and demand. They want you to think that supplies are limited so you make your purchase NOW and avoid the wait. I highly doubt that dealer will only get 2 G37's a month.

Availability will vary depending on how much volume you produce. I know we're getting almost 20 but is still very limited supply in the first 6 months of G37 Coupes -- most of them are preordered already as well. We had a lot of fighting with Infiniti Corporate over why we are only getting such a small allocation.

i havent' got word on pricing (yet) but will make it a sticky
