Hello all, looking for tips on how to care for the rubber gaskets that seal conv top joints. Already had to replace ONE. Over $1G. Car is garaged but is exposed to Florida sun 6 hours per week day.
You can use the Shin Etsu on any of the rubber weatherstripping pieces. On my Coupe, this includes the doors, trunk. hood, and sunroof. For the 'Verts, you would also apply this to the rubber seals between the individual roof panels.
Important! With Shin Etsu, a LITTLE goes a LONG way. You do not need to use globs of the stuff. In other words, USE SPARINGLY!
I just put the Honda stuff on all the rubber seals on my Vert. you can tell it makes change and softens out the rubber some. I plan on doing it to the door trim and trunk trim as well. ILM, thanks for the tip!

Did the same with my convertible. Stuff works great, goes on easy and protects the seals nicely.
I'd recommend wearing a pair of nitrite gloves and put the grease between your thumb and your pointer finger and then apply it onto the seals. That way you have two surfaces of grease going on to the seals. Great product.
