Part to keep trunk up

Hi I’m new here just so I can acquire the correct part number so My girlfriend doesn’t have to constantly hold the truck up with one arm while she loads items. Not a biggie but just one less issue she could deal with. Can someone verify or point me in the correct direction. It’s a 2011 G37 Convertible

That appears to be the correct part number. You will need two (2) of these.
I found them here for a few bucks more but from a known reputable company (dealership). I never dealt with "infinitipartsnet..."

As with any parts order, contact them with your VIN and they will verify if it is the correct part but, from what I can tell, you're good to go.

Mine's been failing for a couple of years now and I've been too lazy to look for the parts. Thanks for the nudge, gents! I'll get these replaced.

I was going to recommend the Boxi's (I have them for my front hood) but their listing did not mention the 'Vert and I wasn't sure they would work with the heavier, 'Vert trunk lid.

Thanks for confirming they will work just fine for the 'Vert, Gio37. Good to know!

EDIT: Boxi's are NOT confirmed to work with the 'Vert TRUNK/ DECK LID.

Sorry for the confusion but I'm not sure if these will work for the Vert, I bought them for my regular coupe.
Just wanted to show other options

I didn't know there was a part for that; I use a 3 ft piece of pvc tubing.

Thumbs up

I’m looking for off brand ones as well. But when I look at the originals, the force they provide seem much higher than I can buy from a non-OEM.

You will likely not find a aftermarket support marketed specifically for the 'Vert trunk. The lid is larger and heavier than on the Coupe. The front hood supports are the same across all models.

With some research, you might want to see what BMW and Merc uses for their decklid supports- being that all of these retractable hardtops, including the G37, were designed by the same German company: Karmann. There "may" be some similar supports that might work.

Wouldn't it just be easier to buy OEM and be done with it? Might not be the cheapest option, but...

re: the pics above, in most cases with OEM parts, JJ= 'Vert-specific while JL= Coupe-specific.
