What part is this?

https://imgur.com/a/jCE4TuR

this is broken on my vert headliner, and it has been broken since I heard that pop/thunk sound a few weeks ago. I haven't used the top since. I have the consult software on a laptop now.

Any idea what part number it is, or if it would affect the operation of the roof?

I've attached a picture of what consult shows me as past errors.

Anything jump out? I'm afraid to keep messing with consult and brick my roof.

Are there any pending codes? And, do you have any other issues with the car OTHER THAN the roof?

Just so you know, any code that begins with a "U" gets priority. Being that you have the "past" U0140 and also a "No Response from the ECU) leads me to suspect a network (wiring) issue. However, as U140 is the COM between the roof control module and the BCM, I would check to make sure everything in/ near/ around the BCM is completely dry and secure. Note, the ECU also lies in this area where water is known to leak into the cabin.

The car runs and drives perfectly well. I'm not sure I am doing everything correctly.

The roof worked great until like a month ago. I was opening it and heard a thunk, I think one of the headliner cords stretched then popped. I was able to turn the car off and back on then close the roof. Haven't opened it since then other than to check out the headliner by opening it part way. So I believe the ECU is dry.

The program wouldn't look up my VIN so I may have selected the wrong model for my 2012 vert, there was a 12/2012 and a 1/2012 listed

You go by the Build Date located on the driver side door sill data plate. If CONSULT can't connect to the ECU then you will get a incomplete diagnosis. It appears you have CONSULT configured incorrectly- shows you are in Bulgaria. I would try reconfiguring the tool again, and see if you can connect to the V-ECU.

I'll tag @n559br here as he knows more about the 'Vert than I and may have some pointers.

Thanks. When I get back home I can try again. Also do I need to be connected to the internet? I figured not since it's bootleg software anyway.

I haven't even tried to change the country and stuff yet. I haven't had any luck on finding out how to use the software and I don't want to learn on my own car that's my daily driver.
