Brakes on the base model Vert

I was changing my brake pads and rotors yesterday to my horror. Idk why tf Nissan decided to put single piston calipers on the front of my base model, but I was livid when I found out. My question is, is it possible to install the two piston caliper on the front without any conversion? I have 330 mm front rotors on now, will they fit no problem?

So you are saying that you did not research the car you ended up purchasing?
I definitely recommend using search function of this forum - it works quite well.

I've never seen a g37 with a single piston front caliper. When selecting the brakes online it asked me the following: Year, make, model. I selected 2012 g37 convertible base non-sport brakes 320mm rotors. It's an idiotic decision on nissans part to have three separate piston options. Even more stupid to put a single piston caliper on the heaviest trim as well. Granted at the end of the day it's my fault for not checking before ordering.

Have you had issues with the brakes on your car? Are they not adequate when you are stopping?

I prefer the bite of metallic pads (which I bought, but are for the dual piston calipers). I'd prefer dual piston calipers if it'll provide more stopping power.

The single piston calipers are more than capable of stopping the car, otherwise Nissan wouldn't have put them on the car. The only person you should be mad at is yourself for not doing your homework on the different versions of the car.

Unless you are planning on autox or track your car, the current setup is plenty sufficient. Sport akebonos are good and look great, but most definitely not needed for regular driving.
A likely cheaper, easier, and an effective way of increasing your stopping power is to get better tires with the next purchase.

Let us know what you decide to do!

Well I'm a complete idiot because I ordered the 320mm (front) & 307mm (rear) rotors. The rotor size appears to be the root of all the confusion for me (not knowing the base vert is 330mm), and how I selected the wrong pads as well. so now I have slightly smaller rotors on. I found some R1 Concept performance series pads for the single piston caliper though, and I'll be returning my powerstop pads. Maybe I'll upgrade to a BBK in the future. Although I want a q60 rs so I might stop spending money on the g altogether besides routine maintenance haha.
