Great Custom Exhaust Option for our Verts!
Nice Vert! Post the results and opinion when done. I have been buried, but just ordered the sound deading material this week to help eliminate the low frequency drone I mentioned above. 95Hz. I don't mind much, but going on a long drive / 2week vacation in a few weeks and need to keep momma comfortable and happy!
UPDATE: Sound Deadening
First, I apologize for not taking pictures. I am trying to get this project done very fast and in very limited time before we leave for vacation.
All, as I have mentioned above I had some significant (95-98hz) drone at 1500 - 2100 RMS underload / acceleration. I have been using the manual paddle shifters to stay at higher RPMs most of the time. Didn't bother me to much, but wife and I are taking a 2 week, 2,500 mile vacation in the car shortly, so I decided to add some sound deadening material to the car to help with the low frequency drone.
What I used:
1. 2.
Noico RED 315 mil 20 sqft Сar Sound Insulation, Heat and Cool Liner, Self-Adhesive Closed Cell Deadening Material (PE Foam Sound Deadener)
What I did:
SUMMARY OF RESULTS:
With all of the gaps, ports, holes, etc in the rear of our VERTs we are much more vulnerable to noise and resonance coming from the trunk. That said, this work made a significant difference in interior exhaust sound in the cabin. The drone is still there, but much more tolerable.
That said, there are a lot of other opportunities to seal off and isolate the trunk from the cabin. I may engage in a version 2.0 effort after vacation....not because I need to, but just out of principle.

What I used:
1. 2.
What I did:
- Removed back seat bottom and seat back
- Installed Noico Black 80mil Butyl on as much open metal space as I could. Installed over existing factory deadening material. Cutting around wires and other obstacles.
- Installed Noico RED 315mil closed cell foam over the noico black 80mil Butyl.
- Reinstalled seats
- Gutted trunk and did same, installed 80mil Butyl first, and then 315mil closed cell foam over.
- Covered entire bottom of trunk.
- NOTE: also, covered metal behind rear plastic finisher at back of trunk (ie where jack and tail lights are). When you look under the rear bumper there is a huge cavern that leads up behind the bumper cover and in front of the trunk area. I felt noise at the exhaust tips could be channeling up there and into the trunk.
- Under the car, I also removed the very thin heat shield that was for the stock muffler set up. Don't need this with this set up and looked like a major source of resonance.
- I installed the same combination of materials on all open space below as well.
- Added just the 315mil foam to the Rear Deck / Parcel Shelf
- Infiniti Verts have a TON of openings that lead directly from the trunk to the cabin
- ~ 3" square hole in center of metal behind rear seat back
- gaps on either side of same metal piece as mentioned in 1 above at the bottom right and left corners that feeds directly to a large chamber that is behind the rear seat side panels
- Top right and left where the roof mechanism goes up to the roof behind the roof liner fabric
- Rear deck (parcel shelf)
- Huge gap between it and the rear of back seats
- Huge gap between it and the bottom of the roof / rear window areas

Looks nice JD! Interesting to go without the resonators. Would LOVE to hear the system without them. Hope you can post some videos with sound.
BTW: I just spent 2 week with the Vert near your stopping grounds (relatively speaking). Was on vacation in Monterey.

Yep, bought all the parts he lists on the Amazon store, but left off the Flowmaster FX resonators. It's pretty loud...but I'm 40...so prob not that loud really...
Man, I'd love to get down to Monterey...it's so beautiful there. I do play golf near there sometimes. But just haven't wanted to drive that far until I get the car 100% dialed in. Just spend last week fine-tuning the coilovers and adjusting ride-height. So I think I'm ready for a road trip......Pebble Beach, here I come.
BTW, If anyone is looking for some Swift Sport Springs, I have basically new ones. Used for two weeks and then I bought Coilovers. Actually, prefer the ride of the Swift springs...but prefer the option to adjust ride height. Let me know if interested. I'll sell them for 50%. $400 delivered new. How about $200 delivered?
The pics I posed before are on the Swift springs. No rubs, and pretty comfy, just lower than I wanted. I got coils to the the ride height to about stock.

Swift Springs
Is there a place or a thread for selling parts? I have looked and looked, I don't see anything specifically for selling parts, or for selling suspension parts. etc. Where is the "G37 parts for sale" thread?
Blue bar on top of page (Forums, Gallery, Tools, Marketplace, etc......) Select "Market Place" drop down and then select "Member Market Place."
