Spoiler with or without antenna

Just bought a 09 G37 convertible and the guy said the antenna doesn't work. I searched around and found that it's integrated into the spoiler. I have a spoiler in mine but thinking the antenna might not be connected.

Is there a specific year that had the antenna? Anyway I can tell if my spoiler has the antenna without taking it off?

You have no am/fm reception coming out the radio?

Or is he talking about the navigation antenna?

I dunno. I'm confused too.

If you look on ebay, there are dozens on there; some with Nav, some w/backup camera, some w/antenna...I have no idea all the combinations of spoilers one can get.

I bought one w/Navigation, but who knows if now that will screw up my am/fm or backup camera. haven't installed it yet.

I think it depends if you have a 2009-2011, or 2012-2013.

And what options you have.

09 with nav and backup camera. The ones on eBay only mention satellite antenna.

I have a similar spoiler and antenna that I put on my vert. The little puck like item on your trunk is your antenna. I forgot to connect it when I did my install and am/fm stations would not work. Had to pull back the liner on the trunk lid back by the spoiler again and connect the cable from that antenna to the wiring that goes with the camera which runs back to your audio unit in the dash.

Cool! I'll do it when it stops raining. How long did it take you to pull the liner off?

Pulled the trunk liner off and everything seems connected. Do you know which cable it is?

I'll try to take a look at mine this weekend. If I recall, the connection I forgot to make was just right of center of the trunk if you are looking at the back of the car. I thought there was a channel opening back by the spoiler but can't remember for sure.

I found the instructions and it does look like I'm missing a ground. From 13.1, it looks like I'm missing the A-B wire. Is Point A the nut that holds the spoiler to the trunk?

This ebay post also has some good pics, but I don't see that cable with the green wrapping at all anywhere. Hoping the rain settles down here and I can take a look at it this weekend.

I think I skipped step f and had to take the liner off to make that connection before the radio would work......good luck.

After looking at my picture, it definitely looks like the grounding is screwed up. I'll have to tear it apart and rewire it to look like the instructions. It might explain why my backup camera is a bit blurry too.

Fixed it! The ground was on the wrong nut. However, the other nut is supposed to be the back up camera ground according to the instructions but I couldn't find anything like that. Is the back up camera for the vert different?
