Changing battery... Nissan scanner relearn?

I hear if you change the battery, you must take it to a dealer to get the convertible top re-scanned to relearn the timing?

WHat if the battery does not go no more than a few minutes while it's being changed? Say 5 minutes; still needed? The re-learn that is.

The only thing you should need to do, if at all, is the full open/close cycle of the roof.
After I reconnected the battery, there was a stupid double beep coming from the rare until I did a full cycle. That sound is very annoying.
