my 2009 g37 keeps saying "check separator" even tho the separator is UP. ANy known issues or fixes for this? HELP!

 

The separator switch is closed when the separator is down and open when it is up. So you can unplug the switch to see if you still get the error (making sure the separator is actually up of course )

If the problem goes away, replace the switch.

I have the same issue, and need to replace the switch. Took the switch and housing into Infiniti, and they couldn't figure out how to get the part. Anyone know what that switch is called, or the part number?

Bought my G37 on Thursday an had a 'CHECK SEPARATOR' Friday morning. Cycled the divider. Beautiful morning to work. At work ... 'CHECK SEPARATOR' and top would not move. Cycled the separator several times. Noticed that the separator on the right had a felt pad while the on on the left did not. Looking around the stowage area I found that me and my wallet were VERY lucky. There was an umbrella loose in the very back. It had done nothing. Lifted the tray cover and found the felt dot. About 1mm thick and about 7mm across. Super glued the felt back in place, Top has worked flawless. A marvel to watch.

I'm drinking a toast to you! I've had my 09 for almost 3 years now and have been regularly plagued with the phantom "check separator" message which would always eventually go away temporarily after fiddling with the separator. Found your post while trying to troubleshoot the 2 beeps every 10 seconds warning after recently having the car in the shop (ac thermistor). Couldn't cycle the roof because of...you guessed it..."check separator". Read your post and found zero felt dots on the separator switch - installed two rubber dots and...voila! Was able to initialize roof and beeps gone. Here's to a "check separator" free life. Thanks, friend

I just bought a g37 converter hardtop when I try to open it it says check separator and in the trunk I see the separator is down I’m not sure how to fix it and I don’t see any video on YouTube to how fix it

 

Hah! Read the owner's manual.

The separator in the trunk needs to be UP for the top to go up/down.

I bought q60 2015 convertible with separator motor base broken so I fix the motor base but I get a check separator in the screen.
The top is closed but the separator is down and the top can not open or even move so what should I do to operate the top or even to move the separator up to his right position
