hours to decide on whether to buy the donut spare for the vert

Hopefully I'll be able to get an answer here shortly since if not I may lose the opportunity to purchase what seems like a good deal on an spare with the jack kit for my no spare havin' vert. Does anyone know if OEM 145/70D18 spare in fact is narrow enough to fit in the lower space in the trunk and still allow for the top to open and stow as designed. My inclination is to believe it does since I know that they can be ordered through the stealership now. I just want to be 100% sure since I'll need to find the stowing hardware to screw it down onto next...

When I bought my used 2010 vert, all the spare tire stuff was missing. So rather then spending $$$$$$ from any source, I just bought a tire inflator/repair system at autozone for chump change. Why because all my high endcsports cars all had the same type of inflator system instead of heavy jack, tools, and very heavy wheel tire combo.

So did you ever end up having to use your inflator/repair system on a flat. If so, how did it work? I'm asking because if the hole/cut is large enough the tire won't hold air long unless sealant is injected as well right? I have no idea what a new tire pressure sensor costs from infinity these days but I understand they definitely need replacing when sealant is used. And worse yet, if its a sidewall punctured I'd guess that the tire is done for either way. So since I do a good deal of country driving and at that a ways from home I somehow would feel better knowing that I could wheel myself out of that situation.
As far as the extra weight...well, I don't think it would affect performance enough to where I'd even notice.

Well besides my lower back problems would prevent me from changing wheels, I have used the inflator system x2 on my other cars-works fine and didn't damage the cars tpms sensors. Now on real bad damage to tires, the inflator system won't help of course so a mini wheel/tire combo saves towing costs, unless of course the mini spare doesn't hold up to the distance/speed you need to drive to go buy a replacement tires. I had one fall apart in 10 miles of driving at 30 mph; a couple friends had the similar experiences. Now the best experiance was on my 2007 Corvette that had run flats-which held together dispite major tire damage.

You probably know this....but make sure the temporary spare is off a car with the Akebono BBK, I don't think the spare from the non-sport brake equipped cars will fit over the sport calipers.

OK, so let me ask you. Would any spare that says T 145/70R18 not necessarily fit? It also says TRR on it... I thought that if I got the 18" vs the 17" spare that it should fit. Do all the Sport packaged Gs with the 19" wheels not also have the BBK...?

I was just pointing out, in case you didn't know, that the sport brake equipped cars use a different spare for caliper clearance.
