Hard Top Lube

I just pulled my G37 out of winter storage (heated garage since November 1) and the top made some pretty creaky noise when operating. It did not operate in the same "smooth" like manner that it was doing last fall. I bought it last May and this is my first time I un-store the car. Any suggestions on a proper maintenance?

Might be a silly question, but did you look in the manual?
I did not store mine for the winter - was using the roof at least a couple of times a week.

The first time I opened and closed it after a somewhat long pause of inactivity (since end of October) it was quite clunky. Has me worried some. Today I brought it home from its winter garage and the top was as "smooth" as it was last year. I did spray a little silicon lube on the joints as a precaution.

There's a long thread on one of the BMW forums about maintenance for their retractable hard top. In it they recommend DuPont Krytox lubricant. I haven't tried it myself.
