IPL G Convertible (what's going on?)

Hi all. I've been doing endless Google searches and scouring the Infiniti website looking for information on the IPL G Convertible. I see conflicting information where some places say it's coming Spring 2012 (which has already passed and I don't see the IPL Convertible on sale on the Infiniti USA website) and other sources say it will be out Spring 2013.

I am dying to know the following things:

1) Will the IPL G Convertible have a manual transmission?
2) When will it be out?
3) Is there any new Infiniti model coming out anytime soon to truly compete w/ BMW's M and Mercedes AMG cars?

Thank you in advance.

Do you have any sources that confirm this? I'm not saying you're lying but I would like to go cry in a corner if there is official word from Infiniti that there will be no manual trans on the IPL convertible.

1. "The 2013 IPL G Coupe is offered in one fully equipped model, the IPL G Convertible with 7-speed automatic transmission. There are no options."

2. The Infiniti USA website says the 2013 IPL vert is coming in Spring 2012, but who knows, your guess is as good as mines.

3. Nothing currently but an inside source form Japan confirms that the redesigned IPL being released in 2014 will have a twin-turbo V-6 pushing out 530 horses.

Thanks for the links to your sources. I just got an email back from a sales guy at an Infiniti dealership in Northern Virginia who says the IPL G Convertible will be available this Fall and it should show up on the Infiniti USA website sometime in August of 2012.

He also said it will be available in a manual transmission. I pray he is not playing games with me.

I find it weird how it clearly says on the website the car will be available in Spring 2012 and yet it's Summer 2012 and it's not listed on the Infiniti USA website for potential buyers to check MSRP price and specs.

Oh, and if there will be a convertible option of that 2014 500+ Horsepower G I'm sold.

Actually, summer 2012 doesn't start until June 20th.

They have 3 weeks left.

What's most important to me are two things:

1) The IPL look almost EXACTLY like this image (note the spoiler is larger and more pronounced):

The IPL G Convertible shown in the infiniti website shows a much smaller spoiler:

http://www.infinitiusa.com/iapps/contactdealer/iplgconvertible?intcmp=IPL_G_Convertible.Model.Hom e.P3.G_Convertible

2) It comes in a manual transmission.

If both of those conditions are met, I am purchasing one as soon as I have the money saved.

Disagree with that, many of them barely get the current model specs correct. They only know about an upcoming product just a few months before it arrives to their showroom. The JX is as far as their future knowledge goes.

cant wait to see the stock tt g! i think its exactly what the lineup needs. many other 'luxury' brands out there have a flagship supercar so to speak. bmw with their M series, mb with the AMG series, audi with the RS series and r8, I just don't see acura or infiniti having anything to compete, yet
