Vert MPG

Vert MPG
I've had my 2011 6MT vert for about a month now...and I'm getting 10.8 MPG My coupe was getting ~15 MPG on a bad day if I remember correctly. Is this a common problem with the verts? What's your MPG? Are the chances for it to improve as I break in the car more? Every time I check my MPG while at the pump I get depressed

Today's exactly 1 month since I got it. Didn't have too a chance to rack the miles up because of the hurricanes and flooding that have been happening in NY recently. Right now it's got about 500 miles on it. Gonna run another 100+ miles on it tomorrow, all highway, hopefully it will improve.

I'm getting 9 on my new G37S, mostly driving local city streets. The speed limit in most places is 35 or 40, but I like getting up to speed as fast as possible so I can hear the sport exhausts echoing off the buildings.

Mine is a 2010 sport auto with about 5,000 miles on it. I drive entire tanks of gas on city streets and will get between 12-14 on those. I don't drive crazy, but I don't mind accelerating a bit either
When I get more highway driving in, I'll get more like 18-20. Haven't had a tank of gas that is all highway ...

Up and down Coast Hwy I average 12-13's at best if I'm light on the throttle. I did an experiment on the freeway and was able to get 26.5 average over 100+ miles by driving eco-friendly. My average so far after 2900 miles is 15mpg. My Titan only gets 9 around town, so anything better is a plus in my book.

The mpg is low because the computer has a lot of data recorded while the car was in transit to the dealer or being started or moved around on the dealer's lot before being sold. Don't worry- it'll improve as you put more in-service miles (i.e "normal-driving"-type miles) on the car. Enjoy it!
