Tiny white dots on hood and headlights

Hey all, I was washing my car this afternoon and noticed that there were these tiny white spots on my lower hood, passenger headlight lens, and upper corner of my bumper (where the bumper meets the fender). The spots are on both sides of the hood (driver and passenger) but they are not on the driver side headlight lens. I've managed to get pictures of the spots/dots on the bumper and hood. At first I thought they were chips from rocks and dirt on the highway but after looking closely they dont look like chips because they are perfectly round. Also the spots on my headlight lens are the exact same color, shape and size as the ones on my hood and bumper. I have also clayed the area which seems to have smooth them down but still visible. Has anyone seen these before? And any recommendation on how to remove them without damaging the paint?

The hood (sorry if it's blurry)

Perhaps it's paint or something that dripped from a vehicle on the road in front of you like chemicals.

Best to remove with clay and then a light polish. If that doesn't work, get more aggressive with a mild compound and get progressively aggressive all the way to a full rubbing compound. In either case be sure to polish & wax whn you are done to protect the paint. Also, if you are uncomfortable, bring the car to a good detail shop or body shop and they will do it for you.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I will definitely take it to a detail shop next week or so. But will polish/compound be able to take the spots off my headlights?

good advise
Do above on a small area first to see if the spots are gone before proceeding to other areas..

It should. You can even use toothpaste to clean headlights if the lenses haze/fog or get yellow. Start with the least aggressive cleaner and move on from there if it doesn't work. It may also just come off the headlights with bug/tar remover.

I agree's with the methods above but would advise you to use caution when using the more aggressive products. Infiniti's have pretty thin paint and you can't undo the damage if you lean a little to much on it. I hope you have success with removing the marks. Let us know how it works out.

Did you park your car where yard sprinkler came on? I think that your car got these fine white spots from yard sprinklers. I notice same thing on one of our cars and the spots wire tuny like yours from water spray.. these come off easy.

No not to my recollection...I park my car in a garage when at work and in my driveway when I'm home--no sprinklers around. At first I thought they were white paint spots or some kind of chemical so I tried Motsenbocker's Lift Off #4 and 5 (had previous success in removing paint over spray on my other cars using them) but the spots just doesn't want to come off. I've also tried wet sanding the bumper (pic #4) with 3000 grit sand paper then repairing the dull surface with Quixx Paint Scratch Remover but still no luck...
