Exclamation Rain, rain GO AWAY!!

Like many areas of the US right now, the northeast is forecast to receive almost a full week of wet weather. For me, this means the vert will remain safely sequestered in the dry garage unitl the sun emerges from its temporary hiatus.

However, on Saturday, before the rains began, I gave her a nice bath and inititated my semi-annual spring cleaning & detail. Over the weekend, I scrubbed every nook & cranny above & below. I still need to obsess over the interior and perform a full Lexol treatment but the windows and dash are clean and the carpets shampooed & vacuumed. I have begun the process of making the paint immaculate with a nice clay session and I have applied 2 coats of Zaino Z2 (in between Z6 detailer spray). While the car remains in the garage, I plan on adding an additional coat of wax a day unitl the sun comes out!

I'll post up some pics once she emerges from her cacoon.

Wow, a coat of wax a day? Isn't that a tad bit overkill? You're dedicated, I'll give you that. I'm also on the east coast (DE) but unluckily for me, my G is my DD so it'll be getting owned by mother nature all week. When I detailed my ride last week, I sealed and waxed it so *hopefully* it lasts me through the week.

I just detailed my mom's ES this weekend for the first time since she bought it in '07. The paint was phenomenal (for a 4 year car at least). I barely had to use compound. Mostly just a light polish and no more swirls plus sealant, then wax. Makes me even more depressed about the paint on our rides...

With synthetic products, 3 or 4 coats is preferred for that "wet" look. I am pretty **** about keeping my cars clean & like you, I enjoy the results...

I am sure your mom loved the results!

Unhappy

We are now enduring our sixth straight week of rain. The lawns have never looked so green. I am used to rainy weather from living on the coast but this is RIDICULOUS!!

Shane D

PS: One cleaning since early April. Most of a Sunday dedicated to cleaning to enjoy ONE single day of sunshine. Until they forecast at least TWO solid CONSECUTIVE days of sun, I am holding off!

I did mine in Z6 this morning before taking it to the body shop. They said Wow! and I said it should look better than that when I get it back, hs ha. Still doing my slow burn about a little rear-ender last week. (I was the one rear-ended)

Kudos to you for all the attention you give your ride.

lucky guy.... I also washed my car on saturday... but I checked the forecast and saw all rain so decided against waxing it.... I have no covered parking in my apt complex so there's no point in trying to keep it clean for too long... =T

Ya, I'm in the prairies... the only thing we ever get is droughts but this year started with major floodings.

Yeah, Manitoba is looking bad. If my area was flood prone, we'd be screwed!
