Lowered convertible performance

I have a 2010 and have been thinking about getting it lowered. I have never lowered any car of mine before.

If you have, did you notice any change in handling, performance, etc. Is it expensive? What system did you use to actually lower it?

Thanks.

Most board members went with Eibach PK including myself, I never heard any bad thing about them either.

Definitely handles better. You will be out of spec for the camber however. shop around on the cost. I was quoted 250 and up from various places in my area. eibach pro kit springs for the coupe but it gets really low due to the weight.

all the details on my experience I've posted here.

I went with the eibach pro kit from stillen. Ask for Max, he was very helpful. Check out my picks of before and after. Its night and day from stock as far as handling. The stock springs had more roll than my escalade. Now it feels like I'm on rails. I was able to align all the wheels for proper toe. But camber was off mostly in the rear. About 1.6 degrees. Any questions feel free to ask.

I'm going to get the rear alignment checked at my dealer and see if they can improve the camber that's currently set.

I really want to lower the car, but I'm gonna wait for vert specific ones... hopefully someone makes them!

My dealer can't get my car on the alignment rack and would rather not attempt to try it (possibly scraping the exhaust), even with boards to step it up to the ramp. Can you believe that?

Your shop sucks. Find a place that has the right tools. The Nissan place by me has one that gets lowered cars on there.

Has anybody tried coilovers on the convertibles? thx.

They don't have in ground near me. I'll need to see if they handle lowered cars.

It's the dealer, not a shop. And yes they do suck for getting lowered cars on their lift. They don't have enough boards. Clearly.

No coilovers support the vert rear suspension that we know of. The front should be the same as the coupe however. Call/email coil over vendors and inquire about support. I'm sure they will say there is no demand, but if you call someone should take note of the demand.

ok I am a new vert owner myself and have entertained lowering my car but have some questions that could use answers. First if I lower my sport suspension and the camber is off as stated above will that increase tire wear? Also will the car still be higher in the front then the rear the way the stock suspension looks? How will it ride with 4 people in the car? How will it look with the stock 19" tires on it? Should I invest in spacers to pull the tires flush? If so what size spacers? I really appreciate some solid answers as I can have my mechanics at work do it here in our shop unless there is some special techniques that are needed to do the job. Thanks again.

yes. what springs will you go with? eibach coupe springs? if so read my review on it and decide if it's right for you. You will quickly go through tires depending on how often you drive it.

no

Don't know. I've only had 3 people in my car ever. The road will be felt.

Awesome. check out the pics in the picture share

I've personally held off doing anything with spacers since it's too low at the back. Since I drive hard this would be a problem. I suspect it will be trial an error if you have it lowered. Maybe 10mm. Take pics and let us know what you go with.

No special techniques to install the springs.
