convertible top issue

anybody here having issues with their trunk closing lopsided when closing and opening the top? My left side closes faster then the right .. should be closing at same rate right? Also I get a squeaking noise when the top is down and in the trunk when driving over less then smooth roads... i think its from the glass rubbing up against the rubber stops the top rests on in the trunk.
I've took it in once already for them to fit the lopsided closing.. they replaced the struts but that didn't fix the problem. Need help! thanks.

My top closes very, very slightly askew as you are describing but since the tops are so finicky I dont want the dealer to F with it in fear of them screwing something else up. I dont have any squeeks or rattles and my roof doesnt leak so I am one of the lucky ones (I guess). I have had my car for 13 months already and the top has been like that since the beginning and so far (knocking on wood) no issues. When it all goes wrong I'll bring it to the dealer to be corrected under warranty but until then if it aint broken I am not gonna fix it!

Good luck!

Same here, my roof gets cycled a few time a day... no issue...I rather check it my self than the dealer, I am with you on this B.

yea one side of my room closes about a second or two quicker than the other side.. =T weird.. never noticed it until you mentioned it.. haha as far as the sounds go... when the top is down I don't notice any noises.. but I've definitely heard the rattles and creaks when the top is up going over any kind of uneven road surfaces... I guess I've just learned to deal with it.. I don't think it'll ever be 100% fixable no matter how many times the dealer looks at it

Mine does the same thing. Not worried about it though, cause i noticed it even before buying the car when i saw youtube videos. I think it does that because there is 1 big motor driving that part, rathee than being a hydrolic system like BMW's and such.

Mine closes evenly. If it was lopsided, i'd get the dealership to fix it while it still under warranty.

My car will be long gone before the warranty ends...

I haven't noticed since I'm in the car, but the 370Z I was looking at did do that and failed right in front of me at the dealer. So I'd get them to look at it. It could be something as simple as grease.

Roof Issue

I have a new G37 and no problems with closing. However, when the roof is
up I have an irritating rattle on the drivers side year window bar. The car is at the dealer and they have not been able to repair.

I had the same issue but I fixed it my self than taking to dealer (saved me a whole day).
This due to the plastic retainer on a string cable for the top ( on the quarter window side), you can do it by lowering you quarter window and you wil see this plastic retainer on the black colored string, that hits the side - you can easily wrap a pc of 3m foam over the plastic retainer which should should stop the rattling noise or have the dealer tighten the string a bit...

Good Luck
