First road trip with the vert, any vert specific tips?
Hi guys. So I'm taking my care out of town to south GA ( 3.5 hr trip) and then a day trip to St. Simons Island (2hrs) where I had my wedding. I've looked around for some road trip advice and found some good ones here
https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...r-drive-2.html
and here
https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...ny-advice.html
However, is there any vert specific road trip advice?
I've already packing the sunscreen and a secured cap. I don't think I'll have the top down for the whole time, probably just depends on how sunny it is I guess.

Agreed, the place is beautiful. I had my wedding there in 2007 around this time @ Epworth by the Sea. I definitely packed lightly, LOL. I did a day trip there yesterday as I'm staying with the in-laws 2.5 hrs away (supposedly 2hrs when my wife used to drive there, but that's a whole other story, haha). The only golfing I do is Wii golf, so no storage issues there.

^ yep. Luggage on the back seat. Top down all the way. Left at 4pm, so it was not that sunny. On the way back today around 3pm there will be some good sun out.
I was at a conference once and picked up some ketchup-like packages of sun block that I used to keep in my BMW vert - I could keep 4-5 packs in the ash tray - each could do my face, arms, neck. Sun block is an important thing to have around if you are going top down. I've also got some leather conditioner specially for convertibles - UV block for the leather.
I really like the California Duster - dust mop - and keep one in the trunk. You can run it over your car and really freshen the appearance after a drive in a few seconds. Really good accessory.
I also liked to keep a small hand towel within easy reach - I usually get caught in the rain briefly before I can get the top up and I can give the seats a quick wipe.
I've always got good sunglasses in the car (I like Maui Jim) - a spare set for passengers isn't a bad idea.
Load up likely destinations into the nav system (if you've got one) before you leave.
And put the top up periodically or you will go deaf - after a day of driving with the top down you'll feel like you just came from a concert.
Think about the back seat wind deflector - my wife liked my BMW *much* more when that was in and it also hides back seat items.
Finally - escort 8500 radar detector.

Thanks Peter. I not only got one california duster, but two, one for exterior and interior.

I wear glasses that have transitions lenses, so check on the sunglasses
Wind deflector - check
The top was always down though. The loudest thing is the travel music to drown out the wind. Top up on dirt roads though.
I have yet to ever own a radar detector though.
