...found a G37 vert, base model, no extra packages on it for $40K.

this is food for thought!

that has to be below invoice, or even dealer cost?

FYI they are selling for about 2K below invoice. There is a $2K buy down from Infiniti to dealer. I just got mine for a about $44k, sticker was just shy of 52K.
