Car seat question

Greetings, I am in the market for the G37 sedan/convertible and other cars as well. My current lease runs out in December.

My question is for convertible owners, do you know if the rear seats have the rear tether anchor for car seats. I know they have the LATCH system, but not sure about the rear tethers.

My issue is that I have a 4 year old and a soon to be 1 year old, both in 5 point harness seats. I am turning in my Acura sedan in December and I have a miata as a weekender. I am considering selling the miata and condensing the Acura and Miata into one G37 convertible. My alternate plan is G sedan and keep the miata (of which I have had for 10.5 years).

Thanks for your input.

I wouldn't encourage the vert for anyone but in your case, +1 on selling the miata and getting a G37.

There is no rear tether point in the Vert

There can not be a rear tether because the roll bars are there. They pop up in case of a roll over. If you have the tether there it would hinder this and you get squished. I put a huge britax convertible car seat in the vert during our extended test drive over the weekend. This is the one with the side air bags as well. It fit, but barely. I'd use the LATCH and also the seatbelt.

Do you guys think having toddlers sit in the back is too dangerous with the top down? I've never owned a vert and was wondering if falling debris from trees, road debris, bird doo, etc ever comes flying into the car? Is that why so many people in convertibles wear baseball caps?

I know a few friends of mine wear caps b/c the sun is now all the time exposed to the face which has high chance of sunburning. I know if they dont use the cap they put sunscreen on. We had our kids in the back no problem when the top is up. I dont know if i'd put the kids in the back with the top down cause they can get a lot of wind.
