2009 G37 Convertible and TT Options
Just wanted to know more about the '09 model and possible options. It looks like the convertible model will most likely be offered (although could be later in the release cycle). Jatco 7AT looks like a strong possibility and there are some unconfirmed rumors of a twin turbo option floating around from some sites such as Topspeed.com
Anyone have any additional insights and/or confirmations?

I talked to a very reputable source and he said that if we can get 50 more topics on myg37 about 2009 - 7ATs, Drop Tops, and TTs, it will definitely happen.

TT would push its horsepower up to around the same level of the gt-r. I mean obviously the gt-r would retain a serious edge with its transmission, launch control, ATTESA, and a number of other things, but it would be kind of weird if there was a G37 with a similar amount of hp. It isn't like the BMW, which has a 3.0 liter V6, it's .7L more and without TT is about as powerful as the TT 3 series. I suppose, though, that the G37 runs about the same price as the 328 coupe (and the G35 sedan costs about the same as the 328 sedan), and TT would probably bump it up to about the same price as the 335 but with far more power. With those two options the G37 would probably be a far greater competitor for the 3-series. They would have two models that much up in price (and turbo), but with considerably larger engines the G's would blow away their BMW price equivilents. Rather than people thinking "I have 7 grand to waste I'll just get the BMW just for the name, it isn't like it's slower," they'll think "I could waste 7 grand on the 335 instead of the G37, but **** I could just get a much faster TT G37 for the same price."

The main reason that BMW used a TT in the 335i was for the launch and torque. BMW's have been known to be bad off the line and have bad low end power, so that was there solution for the 335i. The turbos I believe cut-off at 3.5k. But man, once you chip that car, and the turbos provide boost through out the whole power band, damn.
