can we bump this again, don't know who all the premiers are this was a good start... honestly wouldn't hurt for a mod to make a sticky in the actuall G of the Month forum with a list of those eligable. Maybe premier members should get a build section so they can list mods and pics, and just a link from the g of the month poll to those eligable. Would be an extra perk for the premier members to be able to have a dedicated build thread as well instead of mixed in the rest of the forums.

gonna update mine since my SN changed since this thread

Thanks Jeremy for moving this thread. Now the premier guys can post their G of the month worthy shots, and it should be that much easier to find candidates to nominate.

So, are we going to make the GOTM a vote for premiere members by premiere members only, with limited vote count. Cause it seems that's the only reason non premiere can vote. What does the crowd say? pay to play or not?

As I suggested in the GOTM (even though it got deleted and I understand why)....this is what I think:

1. Only premier members can be nominated for GOTM.
2. Only premier members can vote in the GOTM.
3. Once a winner is picked, a picture thread of said G could be made in the general forums for everyone to see.

Reasons for this:

1. It's too easy to make an account to get votes. I'm all for, and I would imagine you would be too, if someone wanted to pay for a premier account to get a vote. They wanna pay for another account......let em.
2. Could be used as a "perk" for paying for premier membership.
3. Makes things a little more close in terms of voting instead of 50 or 60 votes per car, would most likely be 20. Ties can be broken by forum staff.

Just my $.02

I am in full agreement with the "pay to play" statement above. We have to do it with our rides, why shouldn't we have to do it for GOTM?

All of these "new" suggestions are exactly the way the GOTM was supposed to be done in the first place. Look at the GOTM guidelines and GOTM rules in the forum stickies. Only Premier members nominate, be nominated, or vote. Each nominee was supposed to provide a complete list of mods on their car. Instead both Premier and non premier members complained that it should be open to everyone and by popular opinion it was changed. And that's when the blatant and obvious voting fraud began and I quit having anything to do with it. Lance brought it back but there haven't been any controls implemented so you have a situation like the one that just occurred where a few jackasses sabotage the voting. As long as it is the way that it is it will always be a joke and every month you will have the same thing happen. It's truly sad. The forum is much better off not having it at all than having it in the current flawed incarnation it's in.

First...Who cares about non members complaining about anything? No contribution, getting something for free, can't complain.
Second...and this is just my guess...the premier members that were complaining we're probably the same ones who make up accounts to vote.

IMHO, who cares if there's complaining. Make it fair. Make it mean something. Don't let the members, paid or otherwise, turn GOTM into a joke. Only the admins can prevent this.

It sucks sometimes to tell people "no" for the greater good, but sometimes it's necessary.

The admins should run the board how they seem fit. If non paying members wanna complain or don't like how it's run, let them go make their own forum so they can be mods and run it how they like. If paying members wanna complain or don't like how it's run, they don't have to renew their subscriptions and can do the same.

Sorry, but I'm getting sick and tired of little whiney fawking people always getting their way. These people need to learn how to lose.

Sorry. Didn't mean to go off there. I think you admins do a great job of keeping a clean run, helpful forum and do a good job of keeping everyone in line.

Hate to see something as cool as GOTM get fawked cause people can't stand or don't know how to lose.

Just a friendly suggestion from a local forum ROTM outline...

1. Must be a Premier member to be nominated

2. Car must be in streetable/track ready condition (Nothing that is non-running)

3. You cannot nominate a vehicle you own

4. Users may only nominate one vehicle per month.

5. Minimum post count to vote, 150 posts?

Once the users have cast their nominations, the nominees will be listed. Then each nominee (if they choose to accept their nomination) must make a post in the designated nominee thread, at the very latest, 24 hours after the nomination thread has closed. This post must include a minimum of 5 but no more than 8 images of the vehicle (3 must be interior, exterior, and engine bay), a full mod list, and a list of future plans. This will allow other people who are unfamiliar with each nominee's vehicle to get a look at it.
