New MB bi-turbo V6 planned for Q50?
Just read a review on Autoblog about Mercedes-Benz new bi-turbo V6 engine for the refreshed E-class sedan/coupe.
Has there been any rumors about this being the new shared powerplant between Nissan-MB that could make its way into the Q50? I sure as heck hope so. In the coupe, the engine makes 329hp/354ft-lbs, which to me sounds perfect.
All we need is a little more torque...

^Yes, that's the article I read on Autoblog.
There was no mention of Nissan powerplant sharing in the article, but I thought this engine would be the perfect replacement for the current 3.7VQ.
This similarly follows the rumors of a twin-turbo 3.0L V6 planned for the next IPL as well. Hoping someone else had more insight than me.

Gotcha. That's quite a stretch to say that will be the next Q60 power plant. I think that engine is probably going to be a very good one and very tunable. It may well end up in the Q60, I don't know. So could a few other MB power plants. As far as any rumors that it will be in the Q50, I think you just started the first one.
The only confirmed MB engine that we know will find its way into an Infiniti engine bay so far is the 2.5L turbo 4 diesel.

I was referring to the XTS. If you having an engine peen measuring contest and talking about mopping the floor, why not compare it to the supercharged LSA V8 powered CTS-V and mop the floor with the that measly turbo V6 LF3?
There's always alternatives. An engine is not the only factor that makes a car what it is.

If the GM twin turbo V6 makes it into the ATS, it would be the V model. The CTS is already priced/sized at a tier above the Q50, so they are not direct competitors.
I would hope this bi-turbo MB V6 is the "base" V6 engine for the Q50/60, with a higher output version (~400hp) reserved for the IPL.

As far as I know the CTS is a direct competitor to the G/or Q50 until it gets stretched to a 5 series size. I think as of now that when infiniti drops a TT it's gonna be mean as hell. The upcoming IPL will be a notch above the GTR and Nissan doesn't need MB to build bigger motors. The partnership give Infiniti some smaller displacement motors.
Here's an article on motortrend talking about Infinitis new direction and the next ipl will have over 530BHP. To actually compete with AMG and M series.
