yea i was at the ny auto show today and i was like wtf? they should have just left it as the g37 and waited till the new body style came out and called it q60

 

I know they're dropping manuals for the Q50s, are they doing that for the Q60s as well?

 

Car and driver covered this last week. No manual trans scheduled for 2014 or 2015. The next IPL will use the GTR drivetrain... a manual transmission would only slow down shift times.

starting to look like im getting a gtr or bmw 4 series as my next car because no manual for the Q's = no point..unless they have a car that performs like a gtr...

Nothing has been confirmed on the next IPL either! What sense would it make to put the GTR drivetrain in the Q60... Thats a... GTR! 0_0 and it would cost $100k+... not the price range for a Q60 IPL for sure.

 

The article that was mentioned regarding the "next" IPL (not the Q60) was leaked all over the net. The IPL Q60 is a rebaged G37, that's already been established in the first post. No it isn't confirmed but it's clear that something big is in the works, infiniti will get its very own GTR... Sooner than later.

I am obviously aware the Q60 is a rebadge as of now. And no the IPL will not be the Infiniti GTR... It will be the Infiniti M3, the car it's supposed to legitimately compete with. Besides the GTR drivetrain is too expensive being that it is hand built. Just because C&D wrote it doesn't mean its truth. That's all I'm saying. A lot of stuff is put out there in the rumor mill, best to just wait and see what debuts.

And thats not to say there will never be a GTR equivalent in the Infiniti line-up, but it won't be the Q60 IPL. It will prob be some brand halo car.

And according to Infiniti.... the people that make the car, the manual will continue on in the Q60 Coupe, IPL and Convertible, AS IS. I think I'll take their word over C&D.
