So do tell then..details..??
FWIW, in the article he didn't say the next G would have this 530hp TT motor, he mentioned that for the top-of-the-line model they want to have as a C63 competitor, something to go along with the Essence concept I suppose. He had already mentioned the next mainstream G engine (ie, G37 replacement) would be an extension of the current VQ37 with a revised head and direct injection, as well having the G35h.
Maybe you should e-mail MotorTrend and tell them they're wrong..just saying..

When it comes to the States, the price will be more in line with a M3 or C63 if those cars are the target. It would be silly for them to price it over a 100 grand in the States. So let's cross our fingers and hope that the new IPL version of G could outperform M3 and C63 with less cost.

I was really hoping they came out with the car by the end of 2013 or first quarter of 2014. My lease would be up in December and I wanted to test drive the new G before looking at other options.

Motor Trend: Infiniti Super G with 530-hp Twin-Turbo V-6 in Pipeline

Finally confirmation that the Infiniti version of the GTR is going to be actually built. Yet somehow I'm still skeptical. This part has me concerned about this being legit.
I doubt they'll call it the Essence or that it will look like the concept, but if it's not completely hideous this could very well be my next car if the price point is close to the GTR. A dedicated performance engine building facility is great news though. Maybe there are actual plans to put the "P" in the IPL line instead of making it a show pony.

The HR and VR motors are already pretty similar to each other, hell the HR even has piston oil squirters, something usually reserved to boosted cars.
A twin turbo platform in the G may be a reality, especially with the Germans playing the high hp game.

If they start making Gs in North America, it will be terrible. U.S. built quality is still not too great, the JX35 for example. Infinitis should strictly be made in Japan. And hopefully it comes out a little sooner since my lease finishes next May and I don't know what to get after!
