Smile Infiniti - 10 Vehicles by 2016

Motor Trend - Nissan's Ambitious Power 88 Plan

As for premium brand Infiniti, the Power 88 plan calls for it to grow from 150,000 global sales in 2010 to 500,000 by 2016. That would give Infiniti a 10-percent share of the global luxury-brand market. The brand will offer 10 vehicles in 70 different countries. Reuters reports that the 2016 Infiniti lineup will include an electric vehicle and three other new models. We already know that the Infiniti range will expand once the JX crossover bows in spring 2012 as a 2013 model, but we’ll have to wait to learn about any other new vehicles.
Anyone care to guess what these are?

1. G
2. G Coupe
3. M
4. EX
5. FX
6. QX

New Models

7. JX
8. Electric Car
9. ?
10. ?

So basically, two unknown models are in the pipeline.

There have been rumors about a hatchback 1-Series/A3 competitor and then a Lotus tuned sports car below the G-Coupe.

A car to slot in below the G. Infiniti has already said they're looking at a small FWD Audi A3 type vehicle.

But the article says electric car and three other new models, so it can't be the vert. The vert isn't a new model. So, those three other models have to be the JX, and two other new products.

I'm sure the G25 is included in the "G" line already. The vert is part of the G coupe family.

Well there's the obvious 8% global market share and 8% operating profit by the end of 2016. However, it probably has more to do with eight being a lucky number in Japanese culture. Eight is a lucky number in Japan and it is related to the idea of growing prosperous because the character for eight broadens gradually.
