Not sure I will come to like the large grill. But I guess Audi is doing it and people still like their look, and I'd rather have a large grill than an Acura beak. To me, the car actually looks like a 350Z/370Z with a large grill

I love it. Think it looks great. The VQ is an old design, and is at the end of its run - R-N can't do anything more with the VQ V-6 except DI and turbos/superchargers, and I think we may see a smaller, smoother DI VVEL V-6 with super- or turbo-charging in the future - get a lot better gas mileage + more HP and LOTS more torque which is what they'll need to compete. I mean, look at the upcoming 2012 Hyundai genesis v-8 - 429 HP from a small, N/A V-8 Hyundai? Damn, they are kicking some butt in the engine department, they have some great engineers over there in Korea who must sleep on cots on their offices.
Nissan global has got to step up in a lot of areas to compete with not only MB/BMW/Lexus/Audi, but now with folks like Hyundai-Kia. It's a tough business out there. Look at how mighty Honda/Acura has fallen through lack of design intelligence and laurel-resting. They are already pulling back from that corporate 'beak' - I mean, I know beauty is a mutable concept, but God Allmighty the new Acura design language is awful, and the Honda design language is getting old and silly looking, and is all over the place.

I agree that the VQ replacement (or the new VQ if they keep the name) probably will feature direct injection. I think turbocharging is likely coming too, given that Nissan recently introduced a TC model (Juke).

That looks pretty darn good actually =O
Simple, because the Z is not a luxury car. On the other hand , I can see they made this car as a competitor to the BMW 1-series as our G37 is a competitor to the 3-series. Really curious how they are gonna price this though.

Becuase it's an almost 15 year old design and it's quickly reaching the limits of what it can do.
The G37 = Nissan 370Z. This new car is smaller, think more like the old 240.
I notice there was no mention of that rumor about Infiniti getting AMG engines. I didn't think that would happen.

Plus it's not possible for them to make a car like that. In the drawing, the roofline are too low. You won't be able to see out the window. If they rise the roof ... well it'll just look like a G37. =/
I think this new concept car are much more revolutionary

I happen to like the little guy, should do very well compared to the 1 series. I just hope all of the next Infiniti models don't all resemble the Essence as that would be overkill.

Not only that, it's not an offical Infiniti rendering. It's just something MotorTrend put together based on what their "sources" have told them.
