Earlier this year, we heard reports that the much talked about Nissan GT-R Spec M would be known as the ‘Egoist.’ Well, earlier this morning, Nissan dropped all the details on the new 2012 GT-R and lo and behold, the Japanese automaker also unveiled the ‘Egoist’ addition. So far, the 2012 Nissan GT-R Egoist won’t be coming to the United States. According to Nissan, besides the Japanese market, the company is “considering introducing Egoist in Europe and the Middle East.

What’s so special about the Egoist? It’s for those individuals that don’t mind spending a little more for a luxurious version of the GT-R. “Egoist is the first and only Nissan GT-R in the world exclusively created by Takumi, or ‘master with greatest skills,’” Nissan said in a statement. “Each customer can choose a combination of interior colors among 20 choices. In addition, the Bose sound system is exclusively tuned according to the driving position of each driver to meet every customer’s needs. This is the ultimate expression of the Nissan GT-R.”
That’s not all. On the inside, interior parts are created by Seton Company, Inc. Muelheim an der Ruhr in Germany and leather master craftsmen sew and stick carefully selected leather by hand. The seats feature an exclusive quilted design with single and double stitching combined in a reticular pattern. The GT-R emblem on the steering wheel is created by Mr. Sakae Kubota, an accredited traditional craftsman for Japanese lacquer. Known as the Wajima Maki-e, the emblem’s color changes as time goes by.

The Nissan GT-R Egoist also carries a carbon fiber rear spoiler and a Titanium exhaust system, both taken from the Nissan GT-R SpecV. It also rides on the same lightweight and highly rigid forged aluminum-alloy wheel used in the SpecV, however, a new five-layer Blue Sword Chrome Color Coating is used.

Prices for the Nissan GT-R Egoist start at 15,000,300 yen ($184,698 USD). In comparison, the base Nissan GT-R in Japan starts at 8,694,000 ($107,049 USD).

Sweet interior. I'm sure it would be hot, but not for that price. Would never pay that much for a Nissan.

 

that interior is awesome! I like the part about how the steering wheel changes color over time. My car does that too! It's called fade-ing.

EVO is saying this car is more like a Ferrari 599 in terms of refinement and driver involvement. There's also a 7:20 'ring lap time that's being talked about.

It's crazy what Nissan can do with this car. Forget about the Porsche Turbo S, the GT-R is now in GT2 RS territory.

 

Not only that but new brakes, revised suspension, and new VDC programming to make the car more neutral during braking.

The suspension tweaks actually gave the 2012 GT-R a new chassis code. The previous GT-R were internally called CBA-R35. The 2012 GT-R is called DBA-R35.

 

Considering the Egoist is going to be sold in Asia and the Middle East I think there will be lots of customers for that option.

 

that new leather they use is crazy. especially in the new 2011 M and 2011 QX with the upgraded semi-analine leather (which costs more obviously).... it's just night and day compared w/ the OEM leather.

 

So that means that each individual driver can have their own personal bass/treble/fader/balance settings? How many people besides the owner will be driving the vehicle?

 

you've got to be kidding me to simplify it to just that....

 

Anyone who owns/knows BOSE knows that they offer the most basic sound adjustment in their OEM systems. If there's more to the GT-R sound system than that then I'd like to know.

But damn those seats are just pimp....
